TAPAS ACCUPRESSURE TECHNIQUE (TAT) 

To treat a problem using TAT, follow these instructions:
1.) Rate the strength of your feeling you are experiencing right now, on a scale of 1-10, when you think of the problem.
That number is the SUD (Subjective Units of Discomfort.)
2.) Put your thumb against the inside corner of one eye. Place the ring finger against the inside corner of the other eye.
3.) Place the middle two fingers against your forehead, about a quarter inch above a line between the eyebrows so the
two fingers are lined up with the upper part of the eyebrow.
4.) Cup the other hand, and place it behind your head, with the thumb against your neck, right where it meets the base of the skull.
The little finger will be pressed against your head where it rests. Don't lay your hand flat against your head.
5.) Close your eyes and think of the feeling or event or person that bothers you. Continue for one minute, or until you feel a "shift"
in your body before that. This may be a reflexive sigh.
6.) Keep your pose, and repeat a statement reminding you of the problem in your mind. It may be a person's name,
a phrase about what happened, or the name of the feeling. Continue repeating for one minute, or until you feel a shift.
7.) Keep the pose, and repeat in your mind a statement which is opposite of the problem -- even if you don't believe it.
This might be "I will feel comfortable when I do that," or "I will feel calm and relaxed," whatever is opposite to what has been the case.
Continue repeating for one minute, or until a shift occurs.
8.) Keep the pose, and concentrate your attention on the part of your body where you feel your feelings. That will be different for different people.
Continue for one minute, or until a shift occurs.
9.) Rate your SUD again.

To be used only after using the suggestion "Two drinks equal one" for 90 days.


You have been successfully using the suggestion... that allowed one drink to have the effect of two, for at least three months.  And you have been able to drink... half of the alcohol... you might have done previously, with no... ...difficulty.  Now...you want to reduce your drinking... even more.


You will be able to do this... using any of the following... three tricks.  One ...is as follows:  Beginning now, one alcoholic drink ...will have the effect on you... that three drinks ...had once had.  That is, one drink... will have the effect of three, and two drinks... will have the effect of six.  It would be very difficult... to drink a six pack... in a short time... because that would have the effect... of 18 drinks.


Of course, the same conditions... apply here, as applied... with the earlier suggestion.  That is, if... you are about to do anything... that could embarrass you, the effect... will disappear.  If you are about to do anything... that could endanger your safety, the effect will disappear.


Another effect that will hold true for you, is that...a drink of near beer, that is, non...alcoholic beer, will have the effect... of the real thing.  One good brand... of near beer... is O'Douls.  One form of O'Doul's, called O'Doul's Amber, tastes a lot... like Budweiser.  You can usually find O'Doul's Amber... at a Wal-Mart.


Whatever kind of near-beer... you use, will be equally effective.  Each one... will have the effect that one real, alcohol-containing beer...would ordinarily have had... in the past.  Because near beer... has the effect of one real beer, not... double or triple the normal effect, you will be able to drink...as much as you like, getting only the desirable effects of the real thing, and none...of the un-desirable effects. 


And of course, if you are about to be embarrassed, such as certain persons believing you are drunk, the effect... will disappear.  Also, if you are about to do anything dangerous, to yourself or to others, such as going up or down stairs, or using a knife, or other tool, or engaging in a quarrel, or being threatened, or using fire, smoking in bed, or driving a car, the effect... will disappear.


There is a third effect, which will be equally true ...for you.  That is, lemon water...  will have the same effect ...of any alcoholic drink... of your choice, just as near beer does.  Lemon water... means water with a little bit ...of lemon juice added. This does not... include lemonade, or any carbonated drink, or any sweet drink, or to lime water.  It simply applies... to lemon water. And the effect will disappear... if you are about to be... embarrassed... or endangered.


This effect will hold true for you... for a full year.  After that, you can renew the suggestion... whenever you wish, simply by sitting... or lying comfortably, closing your eyes, and saying or thinking to yourself, "Relax, three, two one.  Lemon water."  By thinking that code, all of this suggestion will be renewed for another year.
