About the therapist --

Hello. I'm Gene Douglas. I was born and raised in El Reno, OK, graduated from El Reno High School, and later from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond in 1967.

I later graduated from the University of North Texas in 1983, with a master's degree in counseling.

Since graduation at the master's level, I have added the Oklahoma licenses "Licensed Professional Counselor," and "Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist" (LPC and LMFT.) I am certified as a licensure supervisor for persons working on getting the LPC or LMFT. At the time of this writing, I have acquired 36 years experience.

I have done additional course work, including at Texas Woman's University and O.U. I have added skills in and outside of universities in regard to hypnotism, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapas Accupressure Technique (TAT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and recently, Unseen Therapist Within (UTW) which have been invaluable additions to my knowledge and ability. I have completed a class devoted to doing MMPI testing. (See the "Techniques and Services" page and other pages on those topics, under "More.")

As for my personal life, I have three children, who have all grown up, plus four grandchildren, most of whom are grown. However, the youngest is now 18. (2019)
